Required Seal Info

It is the responsibility of the licensee to obtain their mandatory state seal in accordance with the following information.

Once you have completed the renewal process you will need to print your payment receipt for your record. Once payment has been processed and license approved by the Board Office your ID card will be mailed as proof of “Active” Status.

You will need to present your ID card along with the metal seal specifications to any vendor of your choice. The following specifications must be used.

The following prescribes the exact requirements and design of the seals:

• Your Name must be printed on the seal exactly the way it is shown on your ID card.
• If you have a name change, you are not eligible to renew online. You must mail all appropriate documentation along with your printed Invoice, Status Report and check (No cash or money orders will be accepted).
• Seal specifications to be exact: 1 5/8 inch in diameter; round embossing seal with dashed line outer border and dotted inner border; shall include the licensee’s legal name (as shown on ID card); license number; and contain the words “Certified Court Reporter” or “Certified Digital Reporter”.
• Indicated below is a sample of the seal design authorized by the board.

• A seal must always be accompanied by the licensee’s original signature.

NOTE: The following list of vendors is presented for information only; the LA CSR BOARD does not endorse or guarantee the work of any particular vendor.  Any vendor that makes custom metal seals/embossers should be able to make this seal. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that it is made to the exact required specifications as stated above.
